While most people on Twitter want their Twitter accounts to be discovered by the whole world and have many followers, there are some who would prefer a quiet place in the world of twitter and have their Twitter account in the private mode so that they would approve those who they want to share their private Twitter account with. So if you are one of those who would love to have their Twitter accounts private and hidden from the world but don’t know how to make their Twitter accounts private, then you have come to the right place. I will teach you how to make your Twitter account private below. So don’t go anywhere :) .
To make your Twitter account private please follow the steps below:
- Sign in to your Twitter account.
- When signed in to your Twitter account, on the top right corner of your Twitter account you will see some links. Click the link named Settings and you will be taken to the settings page of your Twitter account.
- On the settings page of your Twitter account, you will see some tabs named Account, Password, and so on to mention a few. When you are taken to your Twitter account settings page as stated in step 2, you will be automatically taken to the Account tab in the settings page of your Twitter account because it has been set by default by Twitter that you are taken to the Account tab whenever you open your Twitter account’s settings page.
- Okay so in your Account tab, you will see a form which you already filled during your Twitter sign up process, at the bottom of the form you will see a check box which has an inscription beside it and the inscription says Protect my tweets. Check this check box. When you check this check box Twitter will only let people you approve follow your tweets and you will not be on the public timeline (the public timeline is where twitter shows all the latest tweets being tweeted by all twitter users).
- After checking the check box, click the Save button below the check box.
- After clicking the Save button your settings will be saved and your Twitter account will be made private and it will be hidden from the world.
Please note: After saving your settings and letting Twitter protect your tweets, tweets you posted previously before changing your Twitter account settings may still be publicly visible in some places.
So this is how to make your Twitter account private and hidden from the whole world. Oh, also if you want to follow me on twitter you can follow me at @shirleyszone.
